The Little Theatre has been at its Dover Street site since the 1920’s and as many will know, a number of famous careers have been launched by our theatre. We are proud to be at the heart of the community of Leicester in the City centre on Dover Street.
However, many of our facilities are tired and we need to improve them to develop and grow to serve the needs of the twenty first century. With help from the City Council we have secured additional land adjacent the theatre in the form of the former Anchor Club. In conjunction with alterations to the existing building we hope, with sufficient funding, to transform our offer to the public with a new studio theatre and improved rehearsal space, wardrobe areas and disabled and emergency access.
A necessary first step is to secure planning approval and to that end an application has now been submitted to Leicester City Council (number 20182727). It would help tremendously if people who support the proposal could respond to the planning application by writing or e -mailing the Council (firstname.lastname@example.org) and explaining that they are in favour of the development and ideally why this is the case. Please quote the subject as “Extension to Little Theatre with the reference Planning Application 20182727”.
Comments must be lodged with the planners by 12/03/2019.
