Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit

Do you believe in ghosts? When eccentric psychic Madame Arcati delves into the unknown, Charles Condomine finds himself caught between the spirit of his first wife Elvira and his new spouse Ruth. Two’s company but Three is definitely a crowd and things will never be quite the same again.
Made famous as a film in the 1945 staring Rex Harrison and Margaret Rutherford and recently revived on the west end stage staring Angela Lansbury. We are delighted to open our new season with this Coward classic
Noel Coward described “Blithe Spirit” as an improbable farce, full of incessant wit and elegant charm; this is certainly a comedy to die for!
Note: Playing age is what you feel you can get away with not your actual age. As you will see the ages are quite flexible, but the final casting will have to reflect the relationships and connections between the characters as a whole.

Ruth: (Charles’s second wife) Playing age 30s to 40s
Charles: Playing age early 30s to late 40s
