Monday 23rd – Saturday 28th February
Evenings 7.30pm, Saturday matinée 2.30pm
Written in 1894 and set amongst the Fjords and mountains of Norway, this play has been described in some quarters as being Ibsen’s greatest work.
Rita, an unsatisfied and demanding wife and Alfred, torn between his feelings and his calling as a writer, have a lame child, and guilt, jealousy and accusations are rife between them. But, is some of the guilt because of Alfred’s relationship with his half sister, Asta?
After a tragedy strikes, Alfred and Rita reach rock bottom in their relationship. Will devoting their lives to charity allow them to undergo a change of heart and fill their empty lives with something? Something resembling love?
