Funny Money
By Ray Cooney
Directed by Roy Johnson
Monday 19th - Saturday 24th January
Evenings 7.30pm, Saturday matinee 2.30pm
It’s Henry’s birthday and Jean is preparing a dinner - friends are expected and Jean is frantic - Henry is late! He eventually arrives, not quite the same man he used to be - the briefcase he accidentally picked up on the underground was stuffed with £50 notes amounting to £735,000.
But if getting the money was easy, keeping it proves harder. Hilarious innuendo and cruelly funny turns of fate ensue as the two couples assume all sorts of identities in their battle to keep the money.
This brilliant farce by Ray Cooney can be described as a masterpiece of manufactured mirth.
