This play, adapted from Galsworthy’s famous books, focuses on Soames’ and Irene’s difficult relationship and the destructive stifling power of the Forsyte family. Irene refuses to be crushed by the cold ruthlessness of Soames. She refuses to submit to him and the resultant effect on the marriage and separation of this mis-matched couple reverberates through future generations.
