Evening in Tuscany at the height of a sultry Italian
summer, with the still, silent darkness punctuated
only by the chirping of insects. Shadows are scarcely discernible around the farmhouse where Vin, Kate, Charles and Eleanor are spending their holiday, in this glorious paradise of indulgent lethargy.

However their peace and tranquility are abruptly shattered by the unexpected arrival of a stranger with an extraordinary tale to tell – of the discovery of secret religious documents, of danger, kidnap and murder, and of a conspiracy that could lead to world-wide catastrophe.
